I am not sure of the extent this policy go in HK, whether it is for both public and private sector? Moreover, what is the impact?
For us, we did it last year, but we extend our daily working hours. (Now is 8.30am to 6pm or 9am to 6.30pm, etc) Not that we mind, usually we don't leave office on time, by making officially is fine while I need not go to work on Satuday.
But with the technology nowadays, working from home or on the road are so common, and we are no longer constraint by Technology (use to look for Wi-Fi hotspot, and very soon, we will on net via 3G network, sigh...)
I always have 5 working days. However, manay of my colleagues like to go back to office on weekends. Some work at home during off hours, such as when U.S. market opens. So, to us, it doesn't really matter. It's the person's attitude towards work. It's not the official working hours that limits people's time with family and friends, it's their attitude.
